Citrus essential oils are derived from the peels of various citrus fruits such as: limes, lemons, oranges, and grapefruits. Nature’s Flavors carries all of these essential oils in many different concentrations and derivatives. Citrus essential oils are derived from pressing the peels of the fruit to extract the oil that is contained within, or by steam distillation. Nature’s Flavors Citrus oils are light and fresh; they can be used to lighten up earthy scents and uplift the senses and spirits. They may also be used as a natural antibacterial; their high concentration of limonenes and pinenes has a strong ability to kill bacteria. The first use of essential oils for aromatherapy and medicinal purposes has been traced back to Asia, although now they are popularly used all over the used. Many of these oils are finished refined at our facilities in Orange, California. We test every raw material utilizing gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. We also use high pressure liquid chromatography in many cases to verify peak purity. This provides us and you, our customers, with the cleanest materials free from pesticides, herbicides and any other contaminants that could be harmful or cut down on the quality and purity of our essential oils.
