Some companies continue to sell artificial colors exclusively. Our natural food colors are made from plants and contain powerful antioxidants, which help the body repair itself from the effects of oxidation and premature aging. Research has shown that consuming artificial colors on a regular basis can damage or harm normal brain function. Using natural or organic food colors may actually help the brain and slow down the effects of aging. We offer food colors in many forms such as powdered, water soluble, and oil soluble. Newport Flavours uses a variety of raw materials to manufacture our natural and organic food colors, including beets, turmeric root, annatto seeds, purple carrot, purple cabbage, gardenia flowers, hibiscus flowers, grape skin and many more. We are constantly discovering and testing new types of colors. For coloration purposes, natural and organic food colors yield the same results as artificial colors, often times being just as potent. Some exceptions occur where slightly more natural or organic color may be needed. The overriding difference, of course, are the health benefits available through natural food coloring as opposed to the potential detrimental effects of artificial colors.
